In late September of 2010, there were 6,898 registered unemployed with most of these registered in Krapina. When looking at the period from 2003 to 2010, for the first time in 2010 there are more unemployed men, leading to the presumption that this was a result of a decrease in business activity in the construction industry.

Most of the unemployed (37.87%) possess a three-year high-school education. Four-year high-school education accounts for 24.99% of the unemployed while the percentage of unemployed people with higher-education and university education is 4.36 % who have completed higher education or university level, and 3.08% those who have completed university, academy, master’s or doctorate degree.
